About the Book
"StardustFalling" is a tribute to the men and women of occupied France and their desperate attempt to regain their freedom from fascist Germany. A cloak and dagger account of the inner-workings of the French resistance operating under the very noses of the German army.
From the author’s young Midwestern beginnings with a little 40 horsepower Taylorcraft to his progressing up the line to the Boeing B-17 bomber with 4 large (for it’s day) engines. These pilots and crews of the 1940’s bombing raids went about their routine daily business as usual until January 27, 1944, when this 20-year old pilot found his plane destroyed and himself cold, hungry and alone. He walked the vineyards of foreign soil behind enemy lines with no plan and no training in evasion until he finally decided approaching someone must be risked.
